From The Couch – A Win’s A Win, I Guess

K-State escaped with a 31-23 victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday night, a night in which starting quarterback Skylar Thompson appeared to suffer a serious knee injury in the first quarter and may be out for the remainder of the season. We probably won’t know for sure until Monday at the earliest. The defense came up big in the second half, holding SIU scoreless and scoring just enough on offense to secure the eight-point victory. Skylar Thompson and Deuce Vaughn Named To Maxwell Award Watch List

Skylar Thompson and Deuce Vaughn were named to the preseason Maxwell Award watch list.  The Maxwell Award is given annually to the nation’s top college football player.  DeVonta Smith of Alabama won the award last year. From The Couch – Wildcats Lose Fourth Straight/Messingham On The Hot Seat?

K-State lost their fourth straight game last night to the Baylor Bears 32-31 on a last-second field goal.  The Cats were up 11 points in the first half and had a nine point lead with nine minutes left in the game.  There is plenty to dissect in this one.  I watched the replay this morning and, unfortunately, the outcome was the same as last night, resulting in a very bad upset stomach. Let’s take a look at what happened… “It’s…
