Wow, that was fun! A raucous home crowd watched K-State beat number 18 Arizona 31 to 7 on Friday night behind the right arm and legs of Avery Johnson and a spectacular defensive performance. Johnson was 14 of 23 passing for 156 yards, two touchdowns through the air, and added 110 yards rushing. After allowing an opening drive touchdown, the K-State defense pitched a shutout the rest of the game and suffocated the high-powered Arizona offense most of the night….

Something strange happened this week after the K-State secondary was torched repeatedly during a 34-27 victory over the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday. Some people focused on the offense. The game Saturday was a nail-biter that came down to a somewhat controversial offensive pass interference call on Tulane after what everyone thought was the game-tying touchdown pass from Tulane quarterback Darian Mensah to wide receiver Yulkeith Brown.
