K-State Ranked 25th in the AP Poll

K-State moved into the Associated Press football poll at number 25 after their 38-17 victory over Nevada on Saturday. The voters in the Coaches Poll weren’t nearly as kind. K-State received 40 votes, which ranked them 33rd. Also of note, Oklahoma State is a nine-point favorite over the Wildcats on Saturday. That’s an eyebrow raiser.

From The Couch – Martyball Has Nothing on Kliemanball

The thought that kept creeping into my mind as I was watching the K-State Wildcats beat the Nevada Wolf Pack 38-17 yesterday was that “this K-State offense looks like Martyball.” The late Marty Schottenheimer coached the Kansas City Chiefs from 1989 to 1998. Even though the weather was hot and a bit muggy, K-State fans were back to tailgating five hours before kickoff and packing Bill Snyder Family Stadium like it was in the days before any of us knew about Covid19. With K-State leading 7-0, fans were giddy when Skylar Thompson completed a 50-yard pass to Malik Knowles to give the Wildcats a first and ten on the Southern Illinois 12 yard line….

From The Couch – A Win’s A Win, I Guess

K-State escaped with a 31-23 victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday night, a night in which starting quarterback Skylar Thompson appeared to suffer a serious knee injury in the first quarter and may be out for the remainder of the season. We probably won’t know for sure until Monday at the earliest. The defense came up big in the second half, holding SIU scoreless and scoring just enough on offense to secure the eight-point victory. Here are some quotes of…
