K-State moved into the Associated Press football poll at number 25 after their 38-17 victory over Nevada on Saturday. The voters in the Coaches Poll weren’t nearly as kind. K-State received 40 votes, which ranked them 33rd. Also of note, Oklahoma State is a nine-point favorite over the Wildcats on Saturday. That’s an eyebrow raiser.

It was a great Saturday for football in Manhattan. Even though the weather was hot and a bit muggy, K-State fans were back to tailgating five hours before kickoff and packing Bill Snyder Family Stadium like it was in the days before any of us knew about Covid19. K-State escaped with a 31-23 victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday night, a night in which starting quarterback Skylar Thompson appeared to suffer a serious knee injury in the first quarter and may be out for the remainder of the season.
