From The Couch – Desi Sills Commits And Avery Johnson and Dylan Edwards Visit Campus
Normally this time of year there is little news about K-State sports, but that’s not the case in 2022. The basketball coaching staff is still working their tails off and two high-profile football recruits continue to flirt with K-State along with other schools that they are considering. Here’s the latest….
JM: Sills looks to be a solid player that should contribute for Jerome Tang’s basketball team. Will he replace Nijel Pack? Not likely. He doesn’t shoot the three like Pack does, but he has shown the ability to score at both Arkansas and Arkansas State. The 2022-23 Wildcats will need that.
JM: Running back commit Dylan Edwards is visiting campus this weekend. K-State’s prospects on landing him look pretty good at the moment. 247Sports recently changed their prediction of his commitment to 75% K-State and 25% Oklahoma.
JM: Who is “The Underclassmen Report?” Glad you asked. It is a Twitter account run by Billy Tucker – Director of Under Armour All-America Game & ESPN300 – No. 1 Recruiting Service in College Football (self-proclaimed). He’s got over 35,000 followers, so he must know what he’s talking about. Ranking Edwards as the number three speed guy in his class is big-time stuff.
JM: All signs point to quarterback commit Avery Johnson committing to K-State. If Klieman and company can get Johnson and Edwards, it would be quite the coup.
JM: Flowers is the 8th ranked player in the class of 2024 according to 247Sports. It’s nice to see K-State on his offer list. The K-State basketball staff sure isn’t afraid to go after the “big fish.”
JM: Cunningham is the number one player in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports. Has a number one ranked recruit in the country ever tweeted about K-State?
JM: Abraham is a three-star player according to 247Sports, but they rank him as the number 86 player overall.
JM: Onwuchekwa isn’t rated by 247Sports, but he is being recruited by Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, and Tennessee, among others. The 2024 K-State basketball recruiting class could be a special one.
JM: Happened to see this and didn’t see it reported anywhere, but K-State has another high jump national champion. Congratulations, Tejaswin Shankar!
