The thought that kept creeping into my mind as I was watching the K-State Wildcats beat the Nevada Wolf Pack 38-17 yesterday was that “this K-State offense looks like Martyball.” The late Marty Schottenheimer coached the Kansas City Chiefs from 1989 to 1998. His brand of football was coined “Martyball.” What was “Martyball?” It meant playing smashmouth football by running the ball, playing strong defense, and creating turnovers.
