K-State made the NCAA tournament as a nine seed in the South region, getting matched up against eight seed Creighton in the first round.  Creighton is a one and a half point favorite in Vegas and is ranked ahead of K-State by a huge margin in most of the computer rankings.  This one will be a tough one for K-State, especially with the unknown status of injured Barry Brown and Dean Wade.

Marcus Foster is a star player for Creighton and played the first two years of his college career at K-State before being kicked off the team for drug use and other off the court issues.  Marcus seems to have his life back together and on the right track now.  This is an intriguing match up, as Foster has said he has been looking forward to playing against K-State for a long time.  This is his senior year and his last chance to make a splash as a college athlete and you can bet he will be pumped up for this one.

Here are what I would consider to be Creighton’s big wins this season thus far:

November 15th against Northwestern, ranked #20 at the time, 92-88
November 20th against UCLA, ranked #23 at the time, 100-89

They don’t have any what I would consider bad losses.

I predict a close game with Creighton pulling out the win.  The winner of this game plays against overall number one seed Virginia in the second round and it is unlikely either team will fare too well against Virginia.
