Barry Brown will test the NBA draft waters

Barry Brown declared for the NBA draft tonight but will not hire an agent.  This will allow him to retain all eligibility and return to school for his senior season should he choose to do so. It’s probably a smart thing to go through the process and let the NBA tell him where he stands and what he needs to work on in order to have a good opportunity to get drafted next year.

I watched the Kentucky game again, this time in “analysis mode.” A couple of comments… 1) Both teams were tight in the first couple of minutes. Kentucky actually ran a couple successful plays that got players wide open under the basket and the ball was either stolen, blocked or just plain missed by Kentucky players. Kansas State vs. Creighton

K-State made the NCAA tournament as a nine seed in the South region, getting matched up against eight seed Creighton in the first round.  Creighton is a one and a half point favorite in Vegas and is ranked ahead of K-State by a huge margin in most of the computer rankings.  This one will be a tough one for K-State, especially with the unknown status of injured Barry Brown and Dean Wade. Selection Sunday

Today is selection Sunday and it is expected that K-State will receive a seed between seven and ten in the NCAA Tournament.  This year the Final Four is in San Antonio.  I’m not expecting K-State to make it there, especially with recent injuries to first team all-Big 12 players Dean Wade and Barry Brown.
