From The Couch – Sights And Sounds From K-State’s Big Win Against Baylor

Well that was fun. K-State beat a top 10 Baylor team in Bramlage Coliseum last night in a thrilling overtime game. I think I had about four heart attacks during the game and I stubbed my toe on my coffee table as I jumped off the couch when Arthur Kaluma hit the game-winning three point shot as time was running out in overtime.

Here are some of the sights and sounds from a great night in Manhattan….

JM: Lost in the excitement of Kaluma’s game-winner was the three pointer from freshman RJ Jones on the previous possession which cut Baylor’s lead to two. K-State finished the overtime period with a 9-0 run and this shot by Jones was a big reason the Wildcats got the victory.

JM: I love these videos from the crowd that show the reaction of fans in the arena. Bramlage went completely bonkers after this shot. Here is another angle…

JM: What a big-time shot! After the game, Jerome Tang went up into the student section and sang the K-State Alma Mater hugging people on both sides of him.

JM: How can you not love this guy?

JM: Greatest fans on earth!

JM: There was lots of dancing in the locker room after the game! I love this quote from Jerome Tang: “I love the fact we just beat a top 10 team in the country and they didn’t storm the court. You know why? That’s what we’re supposed to do.”

JM: I love that N’Guessan thanked the fans. He wasn’t the only one.

JM: Perry struggled shooting the ball in this game, making 3 of 14 from the floor, 1 of 8 from three-point range, but finished the game 18 points. 11 of those points came from the free throw line, where he finished 11 of 12.

JM: I say again, how can you not love this guy?

JM: I’ve never seen a statistic quite this crazy. 10-0 in overtime games? I would think this has to even out at some point. Or does it?

JM: Here is something you don’t see much anymore. Tang wears his faith and religion on his sleeve and it is refreshing to see that nowadays.

Up next for K-State is a home game against Oklahoma State this Saturday at 6:00. The game will be broadcast on ESPN Plus. It’s a winnable game for the Wildcats, who are tied for second place in the Big 12 standings. I would be happy with a 10-point win in regulation. These overtime games are stressful!
