Five Reasons That This Should Be Bruce Weber’s Final Season

Five Reasons That This Should Be Bruce Weber’s Final Season

The K-State basketball team beat Oklahoma State last night on a last-second three-point shot by Nijel Pack. The game went back and forth all night, and either team could have won it. It was hard to get worked up about this one, as I find myself numb watching Wildcat basketball nowadays. When Pack hit the three-pointer at the end of the game, I thought, “that’s nice. Good for him and the team.” Then I shut off the television and went…

From The Couch – K-State Men’s Basketball Bashed By The Bears

I’ll be honest. I’m exhausted writing about the K-State men’s basketball team. I’m also exhausted watching them. I love college basketball and following this program the last few years has been soul-crushing. I try to be as positive as I can and write about the positives that I see, but it’s difficult. Heck, the K-State Family group on Facebook won’t even post my basketball columns there because they’re not positive enough. I don’t blame them, I guess. I just call…

From The Couch – Kansas Comes Back To Beat K-State Despite A Great Game From Nijel Pack/Jordan Willis Shines In NFL Playoffs

K-State played an almost flawless first half against the Kansas Jayhawks yesterday, leading 50-34 at halftime before going cold in the second half and allowing Kansas to come back and win 78-75 in Bramlage Coliseum. Considering the Wildcats sometimes struggle to score 50 points in a game, scoring 50 points in a half had Wildcat fans feeling pretty good at halftime. Nijel Pack was on fire, finishing the game with a career-high 35 points. Unfortunately, Bruce Weber’s Wildcats once again…

From The Couch – The Strange Over-The-Top Reaction To K-State Basketball’s First Conference Win

As some of you might expect, I’m going to have a different take on K-State’s basketball win than you’ve seen elsewhere. I’m glad the team got their first conference win of the season yesterday, beating number 19 Texas Tech 62-51. They obviously needed it after a rough couple of weeks dealing with Covid protocols. It also gave some fans the opportunity to “stick it to” the fans that want Bruce Weber replaced as head basketball coach. Bruce Weber gets a…

Is This The Beginning Of The End For Bruce Weber?

Is This The Beginning Of The End For Bruce Weber?

This week I intended to write about all the positive things going on in the world of K-State sports. Among those storylines, the football team demolished LSU 42-20 in the Texas Bowl, K-State legend Collin Klein was promoted to the offensive coordinator position, and the women’s basketball team is ranked in the top 25 and is led by one of the best players in college basketball, junior center Akoya Lee. Jeff Mitte’s team is so much fun to watch and…
