The Avery Johnson era at K-State began with Johnson starting in The Pop-Tarts Bowl and leading K-State to a 28-19 victory over North Carolina State. Johnson completed 14 of 31 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns and added 71 yards rushing on 10 carries in the victory.
