Melissa Thomas, my friend Scott’s widow, shared a Facebook post this morning from a friend of Scott’s, also named Scott Thomas, who is an Ohio State fan. Seems they agreed to swap caps last year and Scott died before he could send the K-State cap to the “other” Scott. Melissa completed the task for him.

I knew about the “people named Scott Thomas” Facebook group that Scott was a part of, but had never heard this story until today. It’s a really neat tribute and I’m glad that the “Ohio State” Scott Thomas decided to do it. I’m sure he will get asked about it by many people at the games and he will tell the story and keep “K-State Scott’s” legacy alive. It’s great to hear about positive stories and this is another example of how sports brings us together.
