From The Couch – It Was An Uplifting Week For K-State Basketball

K-State basketball remains undefeated on the season at 6-0 after winning the Cayman Islands Classic tournament this week. The Wildcats beat Rhode Island, Nevada, and LSU on its way to winning the tournament championship. I am not sure how many people were able to watch, as it was broadcast on a streaming service called Flovoice that costs thirty dollars a month to subscribe.
Luckily, I was able to find a stream to watch the last game of the tournament against LSU. The game was competitive throughout. LSU led by 10 points much of the first half, but K-State came storming back to take the lead in the second half and held on for the victory…..
JM: Just like they drew it up, huh? K-State star Keyontae Johnson sat on the bench for a good portion of the game in foul trouble, but was in at the end to hit what would be the game winning shot.
JM: “I’ve got a team full of winners! That’s what we do!” Can’t argue with that so far. I sure didn’t expect K-State to win this tournament. This is a fun team to watch. They are long and athletic and aren’t afraid to shoot the ball. Shot clock violations will be few and far between with this team. They have their issues, like scoring droughts and turnovers, but these issues are correctable.
JM: Think Jerome Tang was excited to win this tournament?
JM: Jacob Pullen taking a page from Jerome Tang’s notebook with his “what a great day to be a Wildcat.” This team is already on everyone’s radar. Up next is a game at Butler 5:30 PM Wednesday, November 30th on FS1. Butler is 4-3 on the season. I’ll be watching!
