From The Couch – Dylan Edwards Commits. Is Avery Johnson Next?

Dylan Edwards committed to K-State on Thursday, choosing the Wildcats over Oklahoma and Nebraska. If you would have asked me 30 years ago if K-State would ever have a high profile recruit choose K-State over Oklahoma and Nebraska, I would have called you crazy. Chris Klieman and company are closing up the state of Kansas just like Bill Snyder did back in the day and I love it. Good things are happening around this football program. Here’s the latest….

JM: And with that, it was official. Would you call what he is wearing in the picture an “old school” look or a “new school” look? Either way, I like it!

JM: “If anybody wanna play some real football, COME TO K-STATE!!!” You think Dylan’s Dad, former K-State running back Leon Edwards, was pumped up at his son’s decision? That’s a rhetorical question.

JM: Now the full court press is on to get blue chip quarterback Avery Johnson to commit to K-State. Edwards mentioned during his press conference that he’s coming for Avery…

JM: Thursday night, Edwards posted this pic of Johnson and himself as kids. Then K-State great Tysyn Hartman chimed in….

JM: Avery Johnson is so high profile, that Darren Sproles, Terence Newman, and Michael Bishop, and Skylar Thompson are all doing some Twitter recruiting….

JM: The full court press is on! I think he’ll end up a Wildcat, but we’ll find out for sure on July 5th. Edwards dove right in trying to get others to commit to the Wildcats….

JM: “cantGuardJak1” is four-star receiver Ja’Kobi Lane from Arizona. You have to go back to 2005 to find a K-State recruiting class with more than one four-star player. The 2023 class could have multiple four-star players.

JM: Edwards is also going strong after what could be his future offensive line. Clements is a three-star player from Lawrence Free State.

JM: Interesting Tweet here. Otting is an offensive lineman and a Notre Dame commit. Edwards mentioned in his press conference that “they” might be able to change some commits to K-State. This will be interesting to watch.

JM: It’s great to see some K-Stater’s on this list again. Knowles is on the special teams list.

JM: I was excited to see Walker and Pullen back on this team. Their first game is July 22nd at 6:00 PM in Wichita at Koch Arena. I’m going to try to be there.

JM: “It looks that easy.” Beasley: “It is.” Through all the ups and downs, I still love this guy.

JM: Well, at least this team can go five on five in scrimmages now. Up to now, my biggest concern was how was this team going to score, but they’ll also need to rebound. I looked at Iyiola’s stats and it appears he can rebound the basketball. He’s averaged about seven rebounds a game for his career. He should be able to contribute on the floor if he can rebound like that in the Big 12.
