From The Couch – Big 12 Tournament – K-State Women Fall To Texas/K-State Men Play Texas On Wednesday
The K-State women lost to Texas in the Big 12 semifinals on Monday by the score of 71-64. K-State took a two point lead late in the fourth quarter but couldn’t keep it. It is on to the NCAA tournament for them. The K-State men play against Texas at 6:00 Wednesday night needing at least two wins in the tournament to get back on the right side of the NCAA tournament bubble. Here’s the latest…
JM: Texas led most of the game, but the K-State women erased a 14-point deficit and took the lead when Brylee Glenn hit a three-pointer with four minutes left to put K-State ahead by two points. Unfortunately, the Wildcats ran out of gas as Texas outscored K-State 16 to 7 the rest of the way to get the victory.
JM: That is quite an accomplishment for Lee, especially considering how much time she has missed.
JM: Projections show K-State as a five seed in the NCAA tournament. If they earn a four seed, they will host the first and second round NCAA tournament games. That’s why this game was important for many reasons.
JM: Brylee and Jaelyn Glenn’s mother posted a shout-out to the fans. That’s always nice to see.
JM: Tang must have been channeling some Bob Huggins here. If K-State can beat Texas on Wednesday night, they will play Iowa State on Thursday. I don’t necessarily like their chances in that game since Iowa State has a bye and they will have plenty of fans in the arena to cheer them on.
JM: This was a neat behind the scenes look at Jerome Tang and the basketball program.
JM: Dean Wade is putting together a nice little NBA career. He has played in 224 games in five seasons for the Cavaliers and has averaged 5.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
JM: Seeing Travis Kelce and Dean Wade celebrating a Cavs victory was neat to see. Go Dean!
JM: Prevailing wisdom is that K-State needs two more victories to make the NCAA tournament. Let’s hope they can get it done.
