Returner Bryce Norenberg Leaves K-State Football Team After Snub

K-State returner Bryce Norenberg left the K-State football team after spring football, according to a post from his father on Facebook. Although Scott Norenberg appears to have deleted the post, The Topeka CapitalJournal reported it said the following…

“It was an amazing couple (of) years in Manhattan, but then D1 College Football did what it does. New HC Collin Klein brought in all new coaches and players … paid them accordingly, and (Bryce Noernberg) found himself at the bottom of the depth chart. Not wanting to start over again as a true walk-on freshman, he basically told them to kiss his ass!!”

This is too bad. We don’t talk enough about the negatives of NIL. This is a kid who loves K-State (along with his parents). He basically got cut because Klein and his staff found and paid for someone they deemed better. So, in this case, Bryce’s hard work and loyalty didn’t pay off. That’s a shame.

I suppose the positive of this is that Klein has upgraded the K-State football roster, which is his job, but it’s too bad that they couldn’t find a way to find some extra NIL money for Bryce. How do they expect the players to be loyal if the University, athletic department, and coaching staff aren’t loyal in return?

I am interested in hearing your thoughts about this.
