Player Of The Week – Felix Anudike-Uzomah

K-State defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah had the play of the game against Texas Tech on Saturday. With K-State down 24-10, Anudike-Uzomah tackled Tech running back Sarodorick Thompson in the endzone for a safety, cutting the lead to 24-12. K-State scored a touchdown on the ensuing drive to cut the lead to 24-19 and would eventually win the game 25-24. The safety changed the momentum of the game, which K-State dominated after the play by Anudike-Uzomah.

Felix Anudike-Uzomah spoke with the press yesterday and gave us this gem…“When I was making that play, I didn’t even realize that the guy was still on my back. I literally dove at his legs because I knew where the play was going to go. We practiced that play every practice. Coach Klieman on the sidelines said, ‘What the heck were you doing? What type of play was that? Did you turn into the Hulk or something?’ I don’t know, I just saw the play and made it.”

I might start calling him “The Hulk.” He’s a beast on that defensive line.

Anudike-Uzomah has six sacks on the season, ranking second in the Big 12, one behind the league leader. I hope he keeps up his great play and climbs his way up to number one.

Here is the video of the safety on Saturday. It’s entertaining to watch not only because it’s a great play, but because of Tim Brando trying to pronounce his name over and over and getting it wrong every time.
