K-State football travels to Provo, Utah for a game against BYU on Saturday night. Both teams open conference play with 3-0 records in the non-conference portion of their schedules. Wow, that was fun! A raucous home crowd watched K-State beat number 18 Arizona 31 to 7 on Friday night behind the right arm and legs of Avery Johnson and a spectacular defensive performance. Johnson was 14 of 23 passing for 156 yards, two touchdowns through the air, and added 110 yards rushing. Something strange happened this week after the K-State secondary was torched repeatedly during a 34-27 victory over the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday. Some people focused on the offense. More specifically, many wondered why transfer running back Dylan Edwards wasn’t utilized more often in the game after rushing for 54 yards in only four carries against the Green Wave.
