From The Couch – K-State/KU Football In Primetime On Fox
The K-State/KU football game the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 26th) was selected for a 7:00 PM kickoff on Fox. If the Wildcats take care of business against West Virginia this weekend, a victory over KU would mean that K-State will face TCU in the Big 12 championship game. As fans, it’s hard not to look ahead to the KU game, but the Wildcats have to concentrate on beating the Mountaineers this weekend in order for that scenario to play out. Here is some news of the day for Wildcat fans…
JM: It’s pretty exciting that the KU game was selected for a 7:00 kick on Fox. Bill Snyder Family Stadium should be rocking for this one. A quick glance at weather.com shows a high temperature of 51 degrees and a low of 32 degrees that day. It’ll likely be a cold one whether that prediction is right or not.
JM: How would you feel about a rematch against LSU in the Sugar Bowl? LSU is a much different team this season and it would likely be a great match-up, but I’d rather have a different opponent since K-State just played them in January at the Texas Bowl.
JM: I don’t know whether this report is accurate, but I have heard that Kobe Savage is likely done for the season, which is a huge blow for the K-State secondary. I’ve heard that Martinez is still week-to-week, but if this report is accurate, Will Howard will be the starting quarterback for the rest of the regular season. Martinez could be back for the bowl game. At this time, nobody knows for sure.
JM: K-State is a 7.5 point favorite against West Virginia this Saturday. I like that point spread and I especially like that K-State is 3-1 against the spread in road games this season. I feel pretty good about a Wildcat victory against the Mountaineers.
JM: It’s nice to see that Keyontae Johnson is already getting some national publicity for his play this season. He has the potential to have a very special season.
