From The Couch – Breaking Down Casey Alexander’s K-State Basketball Roster
New K-State basketball coach Casey Alexander’s roster is nearly complete. The most positive thing I can say about it is that they have potential. I put together a table of the 13 players sorted by height, also listing their previous school, games started, and points and rebounds they averaged per game. So far, the roster consists of two high school players, one returning player, and the rest are transfers. Alexander has a roster limit of 15, so it is possible that he may add a couple more, but here is what we have so far….
| Name | Position | Height | Previous School | 2025-26 Games Started | 2025-26 Points Per Game | 2025-26 Rebounds Per Game | Star Ranking Out Of High School | Years of Eligibility |
| JT Rock | Center | 7’1″ | New Mexico | 1 | 6.2 | 3.5 | 4* | 2 |
| Pape N’diaye | PF/C | 7’0″ | Xavier | 0 | 2.0 | 2.3 | 3* | 2 |
| Matt Gilhool | PF/C | 6’11” | LSU | Redshirt | 0 | 0 | 4* | 4 |
| Brock Vice | PF | 6’10” | Murray State | 0 | 2.0 | 1.8 | 3* | 2 |
| Timotej Malovec | PF/W | 6’8″ | Miami | 2 | 4.2 | 1.3 | 3* | 2 |
| Isaiah Abraham | Wing | 6’7″ | Georgetown | 31 | 4.8 | 2.9 | 4* | 2 |
| Dezdrick Lindsay | Wing | 6’6″ | Oregon | 8 | 5.3 | 2.8 | 0* | 1 |
| Andrej Kostic | SG | 6’6″ | K-State | 0 | 5.2 | 1.7 | 4* | 3 |
| Jaden Schutt | SG | 6’5″ | Virginia Tech | 5 | 7.7 | 1.6 | 4* | 1 |
| Devin Hutcherson | Wing | 6’5″ | High School | N/A | N/A | N/A | 3* | 4 |
| Jaylen Alexander | PG | 6’2″ | High School | N/A | N/A | N/A | 3* | 4 |
| Brandon Rechsteiner | SG | 6’1″ | Colorado State | 34 | 12.0 | 2.2 | 4* | 1 |
| Montana Wheeler | PG | 5’9″ | Bradley | 0 | 8.5 | 1.1 | 3* | 3 |
There aren’t many “games started” among this group. I would guess that Abraham and Rechsteiner will start for K-State along with Kostic. I have no idea who else may start. There are six former four-star recruits here, but they lack the experience to evaluate how they may perform this fall. Regardless, I’m happy to see that many top-100ish recruits on the roster.
Alexander has a lot to work with and mold here, and I’m sure there will be plenty of growing pains. K-State fans will need a lot of patience because it will likely take this team a while to perform how we all want them to. It is bound to be another interesting season.
